I was getting this error when I try to run one Window services application
Windows could not start the service on Local Computer.
Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.
I was able to resolve this issue by doing this
Double click on the service, click on the Log On tab, select "Local System Account" and
"Allow service to interact with desktop".
